Sin embargo, este no es un adi\u00f3s definitivo al ciclismo, ya que a partir del pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o asumir\u00e1 el rol de director deportivo en <strong>Red Bull-BORA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>De corredor a director<\/h3>\n<p>Mezgec, reconocido por su habilidad como sprinter y su papel de capit\u00e1n de ruta, ahora se enfocar\u00e1 en guiar a j\u00f3venes talentos. Uno de sus principales desaf\u00edos ser\u00e1 colaborar con <strong>Alessio Magagnotti<\/strong>, quien ser\u00e1 promovido al equipo principal el pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o. Este cambio de rol tiene un paralelo con la carrera de <strong>Mark Renshaw<\/strong>, antiguo lanzador de Mark Cavendish y actual director de velocistas en Decathlon CMA CGM.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00abDesde hace alg\u00fan tiempo, he deseado seguir vinculado al ciclismo como director deportivo una vez que finalice mi carrera. Al final, ten\u00eda tres opciones, y de ellas, Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe me pareci\u00f3 la m\u00e1s interesante\u00bb, declar\u00f3 Mezgec.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Durante sus a\u00f1os como profesional, Mezgec logr\u00f3 importantes victorias, incluyendo la etapa final del <strong>Giro d&#8217;Italia 2014<\/strong> en Trieste. Concluy\u00f3 su carrera en el equipo <strong>Jayco-AlUla<\/strong>, donde compiti\u00f3 las \u00faltimas 11 temporadas, y se unir\u00e1 a su compatriota <strong>Jan Tratnik<\/strong> en su nuevo equipo.<\/p>\n<p>A pesar de su vasta experiencia, Mezgec admite que ser\u00e1 un reto asesorar a un corredor como <strong>Remco Evenepoel<\/strong>. \u00abMe resultar\u00eda dif\u00edcil transmitirle mis experiencias a Remco porque no s\u00e9 lo que se siente al final de la carrera si solo quedamos tres.
