Esta decisi\u00f3n fue anunciada en el Congreso Anual de la UCI en Montreal, donde el presidente de la UCI, <strong>David Lappartient<\/strong>, junto a Enrico Della Casa, hicieron oficial la elecci\u00f3n. Jos\u00e9 Vicioso, presidente de la Real Federaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Ciclismo, recibi\u00f3 el distintivo que acredita a Benidorm como la sede del evento.<\/p>\n<h3>Un regreso esperado para el ciclocross en Espa\u00f1a<\/h3>\n<p>La \u00faltima ocasi\u00f3n en que Espa\u00f1a acogi\u00f3 un Mundial de ciclocross fue en 1990, en Getxo. La designaci\u00f3n de Benidorm para 2031 representa un reconocimiento al crecimiento de la Copa del Mundo en esta localidad, que desde 2023 ha logrado consolidarse en el calendario internacional.<\/p>\n<p>Los parques de <strong>Foietes y El Moralet<\/strong> han sido el escenario de carreras que han atra\u00eddo hasta 16.000 espectadores, con victorias de ciclistas de renombre como <strong>Mathieu van der Poel<\/strong> y <strong>Wout van Aert<\/strong>.
