La carrera era especialmente esperada por el regreso de <strong>Mathieu van der Poel<\/strong> al MTB, tras casi un a\u00f1o de ausencia. Esta competencia tambi\u00e9n serv\u00eda como preparaci\u00f3n para el inminente Campeonato del Mundo de Val di Sole.<\/p>\n<h3>Una remontada y un susto para Van der Poel<\/h3>\n<p>La normativa de la UCI permiti\u00f3 a Van der Poel partir desde la \u00faltima posici\u00f3n, lo que lo oblig\u00f3 a realizar una destacada remontada. En los primeros metros, el neerland\u00e9s adelant\u00f3 a m\u00e1s de 20 corredores, alcanzando el grupo principal al inicio de la segunda vuelta. Sin embargo, un resbal\u00f3n en el rock garden lo releg\u00f3 al 14\u00ba puesto, aunque finalmente logr\u00f3 terminar en la 10\u00aa posici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Por otro lado, la carrera tambi\u00e9n present\u00f3 novedades t\u00e9cnicas, como la participaci\u00f3n de <strong>Ond\u0159ej Cink<\/strong> con una bicicleta prototipo de 32&#8243;, que ya hab\u00eda utilizado para ganar d\u00edas antes. En la tercera vuelta, <strong>Luca Schwarzbauer<\/strong> lider\u00f3 moment\u00e1neamente, pero un incidente lo dej\u00f3 fuera de la lucha por el podio.<\/p>\n<h3>Decidido en los \u00faltimos metros<\/h3>\n<p>En la vuelta final, <strong>Luca Martin<\/strong> lanz\u00f3 un feroz ataque, pero Boichis, con una \u00faltima embestida, se impuso con un tiempo de 22:32, dejando a Martin en segundo lugar a un segundo, y a <strong>David List<\/strong> completando el podio a siete segundos.
