Sin embargo, su trayectoria se vio afectada por dos casos de dopaje, que dejaron una marca en su legado.<\/p>\n<h3>Primera sanci\u00f3n: el caso del salbutamol<\/h3>\n<p>En 2007, Petacchi enfrent\u00f3 su primer problema cuando un an\u00e1lisis revel\u00f3 niveles elevados de salbutamol, un medicamento para el asma permitido bajo ciertas condiciones. Aunque inicialmente fue absuelto por la Federaci\u00f3n Italiana de Ciclismo, la <strong>Agencia Mundial Antidopaje<\/strong> logr\u00f3 una apelaci\u00f3n que result\u00f3 en una sanci\u00f3n y la descalificaci\u00f3n de sus resultados en el <strong>Giro 2007<\/strong>. Petacchi fue despedido por el equipo <strong>Milram<\/strong> y se uni\u00f3 a <strong>LPR Brakes-Ballan<\/strong> tras cumplir su suspensi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h3>Segunda controversia: la Operaci\u00f3n Aderlass<\/h3>\n<p>El segundo incidente lleg\u00f3 en 2019, cuando se le vincul\u00f3 con la <strong>Operaci\u00f3n Aderlass<\/strong>, un esc\u00e1ndalo de dopaje relacionado con transfusiones de sangre. Aunque Petacchi neg\u00f3 las acusaciones, la UCI le impuso una suspensi\u00f3n de dos a\u00f1os.
