El joven choc\u00f3 contra la parte trasera de un coche y, aunque estaba consciente tras la ca\u00edda, inform\u00f3 que no sent\u00eda sus piernas. Fue trasladado r\u00e1pidamente a un hospital y posteriormente a un centro para parapl\u00e9jicos para evaluar sus lesiones.<\/p>\n<h3>Complicaciones y tratamiento<\/h3>\n<p>Berthoud, quien corre para <strong>JEGG<\/strong>, equipo afiliado a <strong>Visma \u2013 Lease a Bike<\/strong> en la categor\u00eda junior, fue ingresado en el Hospital Universitario de Lausana con lesiones en la columna cervical, pecho y m\u00e9dula espinal. Su familia comunic\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s de Instagram que, tras dos cirug\u00edas, no se encuentra en estado cr\u00edtico, pero las lesiones medulares generan preocupaci\u00f3n por una posible paraplejia.<\/p>\n<p>El joven ciclista fue trasladado al <strong>Centro Suizo para Parapl\u00e9jicos en Nottwil<\/strong> para recibir tratamiento adicional. Su padre, \u00c9ric, explic\u00f3 al peri\u00f3dico La Libert\u00e9 que un edema est\u00e1 causando inflamaci\u00f3n en la m\u00e9dula espinal y que esta situaci\u00f3n podr\u00eda tardar semanas o meses en resolverse. Se necesitar\u00e1 tiempo para evaluar las posibles consecuencias neurol\u00f3gicas a largo plazo.<\/p>\n<p>Berthoud ha tenido una carrera prometedora, siendo ganador de la medalla de oro en la contrarreloj del <strong>Festival Ol\u00edmpico de la Juventud Europea de 2025<\/strong> y vencedor de la Crono de las Naciones sub 17.
