Trek ha decidido limitar voluntariamente la velocidad de sus bicicletas el\u00e9ctricas de monta\u00f1a en Estados Unidos para conservar el acceso a los senderos y fomentar la seguridad.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trek<\/strong> ha anunciado una medida que podr\u00eda influir en el futuro de las eMTB en Estados Unidos. La marca limitar\u00e1 de manera voluntaria la velocidad de todos sus modelos el\u00e9ctricos de monta\u00f1a vendidos en el pa\u00eds. Esta decisi\u00f3n busca proteger el acceso a los senderos, aumentar la seguridad y frenar el incremento de potencia y velocidad en el sector.<\/p>\n

Detalles de la medida<\/h3>\n

A partir de ahora, todas las eMTB de Trek<\/strong> comercializadas en EE. UU. tendr\u00e1n una asistencia al pedaleo limitada a 20 mph (32 km\/h) y no contar\u00e1n con acelerador. Aunque sus bicicletas el\u00e9ctricas urbanas y de carretera seguir\u00e1n ofreciendo asistencia hasta 45 km\/h, el acelerador mantendr\u00e1 su l\u00edmite en 32 km\/h.<\/p>\n

El presidente de Trek<\/strong>, John Burke, subray\u00f3 la importancia de esta medida para evitar restricciones futuras en el acceso a senderos. \u00abComo industria hemos trabajado durante d\u00e9cadas para conseguir acceso a senderos y carriles bici. Preferimos actuar con responsabilidad hoy antes que tener que explicar ma\u00f1ana por qu\u00e9 los ciclistas perdieron el acceso a los lugares que aman y a un deporte que hace del mundo un lugar mejor\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Llamado a la industria<\/h3>\n

Trek<\/strong> ha instado a otros fabricantes, distribuidores y organizaciones del sector a adoptar est\u00e1ndares similares de forma voluntaria. La marca sugiere que las bicicletas con acelerador por encima de 32 km\/h o con asistencia al pedaleo superior a 45 km\/h deber\u00edan considerarse en una categor\u00eda regulatoria distinta, m\u00e1s cercana a los ciclomotores el\u00e9ctricos.<\/p>\n
