Tras perder ritmo en La Redoute frente a <strong>Tadej Pogacar<\/strong> y <strong>Paul Seixas<\/strong>, y sufrir en las monta\u00f1as del UAE Tour y la Volta a Catalunya, sus expectativas para el Tour de France no eran altas. Sin embargo, logr\u00f3 sorprender con un segundo puesto, a 6:26 de Pogacar.<\/p>\n<h3>Un camino de altibajos<\/h3>\n<p>Evenepoel confes\u00f3 que, al inicio de su entrenamiento en Sierra Nevada, tuvo serias dudas sobre su capacidad para competir. \u00abEn la cima de la subida, le dije literalmente al masajista David Geeroms: \u2018Voy al Tour para ganar etapas. Nunca va a funcionar\u2019\u00bb, record\u00f3.
