Recientemente, Gianetti ha intentado distanciarse de estos hechos, describi\u00e9ndose como una \u00abv\u00edctima\u00bb de las circunstancias que rodearon al equipo <strong>Saunier Duval<\/strong>, el cual dirig\u00eda.<\/p>\n<h3>Controversias y declaraciones<\/h3>\n<p>Durante su gesti\u00f3n en <strong>Saunier Duval<\/strong> entre 2004 y 2011, varios ciclistas del equipo, como <strong>Leonardo Piepoli<\/strong>, <strong>Riccardo Ricco<\/strong> y <strong>Juan Jos\u00e9 Cobo<\/strong>, se vieron envueltos en esc\u00e1ndalos de dopaje. Gianetti afirma que no estaba al tanto de las actividades ilegales de sus corredores. \u00abComet\u00ed el error de ficharlos en mi equipo\u00bb, expres\u00f3 Gianetti, quien tambi\u00e9n ha iniciado acciones legales contra algunos de estos ciclistas.<\/p>\n<p>Gianetti ha defendido su posici\u00f3n alegando que, al igual que un padre no siempre sabe lo que hacen sus hijos, \u00e9l no pod\u00eda conocer cada acci\u00f3n de sus ciclistas. Adem\u00e1s, explic\u00f3 que su prioridad en aquel entonces era mantener el equipo y los empleos de sus integrantes. Sin embargo, la pr\u00e1ctica sistem\u00e1tica de dopaje en el equipo plantea dudas sobre su desconocimiento.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00abComet\u00ed el error de ficharlos en mi equipo. Deber\u00eda haber reaccionado de otra manera, haber sido m\u00e1s claro con la prensa, explicar que yo era una v\u00edctima\u00bb, declar\u00f3 Gianetti.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>El pasado de Gianetti como ciclista tambi\u00e9n ha sido cuestionado, especialmente por un incidente ocurrido en 1998 durante el Tour de Romandia, donde fue hospitalizado en estado cr\u00edtico. Aunque siempre ha negado el uso de EPO, las sospechas persisten.
